I know that some of the heavy collectors on here as well as some of the light ones probably have some idea or at least a close estimate on how much $ they currently have "Invested" in their items... Just wondering about where everyone is...
To start off i started collecting when i was in high school all most 14 years ago. I started off collecting silver bottom original boots and then worked my way to other things such as singles just because the lots of cd's i was buying just happened to have them included. So i had do estimates on a lot of the early items ... but all in all
CD's Vinyl Signed Guitar Signed Drumhead Merchandise
My estimate is between $9,000 -- $10,000 US
I currently have 73 items that i dont have a price or an estimate on but im sure that its a pretty close range.
I would love to know today's value of my collection... and with eatmeek selling off each week he keeps filling in the gaps.

I have no idea how much my collection is worth. I have almost all of the vinyl, some of which is signed. A lot of stuff I picked up along the way. I have pictures of me with the band which are worthless to anyone else, but they are pretty important to me. I think I've probably invested about $1000 of my own money, how much it is all actually worth, I have no idea.

I don't keep track of what prices I buy items for. I've been collecting since somewhere in between the Dookie and Insomniac-release, so it's been spread over many years. Some years have gone by without any buying, while other years have been to the extreme...
I can make an item-count of items in the various categories, but I really have no idea of what it all have cost me or how much it's worth. And I don't really mind either, since for me it's a collection, not an investment.

for me it's both a collection, a passtime AND an investment. i'd say my current collection would be worth more than triple what i've spent, but what that amount it remains a mystery!

i always say to myself its an investment, but i can't see me selling it for a long time, and i wouldn't want to know how much its worth.

Most people that see my collection says "wow, that must be worth a lot - do you know how much?", and I must honestly answer that I have no idea. As mentioned earlier, I've been doing this for such a long time that selling the collection is not really an option - and that's why it's more of a hobby than an investment. My apartment is my investment, not my record collection

I wish I had kept track on how much I spent. At least I keep track on how much I get them sold for!
